Founding Attorney
Juliane Smith, Esq.
Juliane Smith earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2012, where she was recognized with a Dean's Scholarship and participated in the Nonprofit Clinic — a yearlong program in which law students work directly with local nonprofit boards on formation, tax-exempt status, charitable solicitation, contracts, and compliance matters. She holds a B.A. in Government and International Affairs, with a minor in Information Technology, from George Mason University (2009), where she graduated summa cum laude.
After law school, Juliane served as a Robert F. Kennedy '51 Public Service Fellow in the Virginia Attorney General's office, working across environmental law, real estate, land use, mineral law, bankruptcy, and criminal fraud prosecution. She then practiced as an associate for Gilbert Davis, Esq., handling criminal and real estate matters, before founding Wordsmith Law.
Today, Juliane advises businesses on corporate formation, sales and purchases, financing, regulatory compliance, and data privacy — and is an experienced litigator in both trial and appellate courts. Her work includes successful litigation defending a client against defamatory social media comments, and closing an $8.5 million real estate transaction for a sports stadium development.
