Juliane Smith, Esq. graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a recipient of the Dean's Scholarship. Before that, she attended George Mason University, graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in Government and International Affairs and a minor in Information Technology.
While in law school, Juliane was a member of the University of Virginia School of Law's Nonprofit Clinic, a yearlong clinic in which law students work directly with local nonprofit boards to advise on such matters as formation and corporate structure, tax-exempt status and other taxation issues, charitable solicitation laws, contracts, and continuing legal compliance.
After law school, Juliane's experience includes being a Robert F. Kennedy '51 Public Service Fellow at the Virginia Office of the Attorney General, where she worked on an environmental law project involving real estate, land use, mineral, and bankruptcy law issues, as well as working with a business and government benefits criminal fraud prosecution team. She then worked as an associate for a distinguished Virginia attorney, Gilbert Davis, Esq., gaining experience in criminal and real estate matters, before opening her own firm.
Juliane's firm is focused on advising clients on their corporate needs, including formation, business sales/purchases and financing; regulatory concerns, and data and privacy compliance. Juliane is also an experienced litigator in trial and appellate courts.

- Litigating successfully against defamatory social media comments directed against a business and a principal of the business in their professional and personal capacities.
- Advising on an $8.5 million real estate land sale to a developer building a sports stadium.
Clients have included businesses of all sizes and in all phases, such as tech startups, medical device manufacturers, medical offices and professionals, nonprofits, gyms, auto repair shops, restaurants, laundromats, private schools, and consultants.
Juliane is barred in California and Virginia, providing her the ability to represent clients who want a presence, or have regulatory or intellectual property concerns, on both coasts. She also has connections with established attorneys barred in other states - including Washington, DC and Maryland - enabling her to lead a team to represent clients with multi-state needs.
